Michelle Bourdeau

Michelle is a Canadian Massage Therapist who after operating a treatment based massage therapy practice for 11 years, opened Andari Spa in 2011 located in the Millennium Resort and Spa.

For the past 15 years I have been the uplifting force behind the largest women’s watersport event in the Caribbean, The Cabarete Butterfly Effect. Over the years thousands of women have converged in Cabarete to experience this empowering movement

The Cabarete Butterfly Effect is a one-day non-competitive board- sports event that includes wellness and leadership events, a downwinder, and community giveback activities that spread “aloha” and raises funds for The DREAM Project.

The event was created in 2007 by waterwoman Tatiana Howard Maffei in Maui, Hawaii, and has been taking place each year since, in a variety of locations world- wide, totalling more than 50 events in more than 20 countries so far.

Participants travel from near and far to take part in these unique, uplifting gatherings. Watersports include surf, windsurf, kitesurf, stand up paddle and kayak.

Snow sports include ski and snowboard. Participants enjoy the ride and help each other so that they can complete the course together, building confidence and friendship along the way.

In addition to the downwind or downhill course, there are optional custom addons to each event including clinics, camps, dinners, dancing, auctions, giveaways and community giveback activities.
